Chief Schlude joined the Andrew Chereb Engine Company of the Miller Place Fire Department in 1997. He served as Deparment Secretary and Chief's Aide for 8 years. He began working his way through the Engine Company ranks in 2002 finishing as a 3 year Captain in 2010. He is a pilot for the department boat and was appointed the Marine Unit Leader in 2011. He has been active with EMS since joining and became an EMT in 2010. Chief Schlude was elected to the Chief's office in 2011.
