
Chief of Department William J. Curcie

Chief Curcie began his volunteer career with the Selden Fire Department. While a member of Selden for over 15 years he rose to the rank of Captain. Chief Curcie and his family then moved to Miller Place and he began his tenure at the Miller Place Fire Department. Chief Curcie quickly climbed the ranks serving as both Lieutenant and Captain of the Truck Company. He then moved on to become Third Assistant Chief. While on the Chief's Staff, Chief Curcie has been instrumental with training for the department. He serves as training leader for the Rapid Intervention Team as well as the rescue boat committee. Chief Curcie was instrumental with Miller Place's purchase of a boston whaler rescue boat in 2004. As for his real profession, Chief Curcie is a Seargent with the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office and also serves as the leader of the Sheriff's Emergency Response Team.
